The story of Torchlight II continues on from the first game in the series, as the Alchemist protagonist of Torchlight has been corrupted by the Ember Blight and has fallen to evil. The player takes on the role of a new hero, who must go on a quest to save the world from the possessed Alchemist, which involves seeking out the six Elemental Guardians for their aid in protecting the elements of the natural world. The part of the story concerning the protagonist of the first game being corrupted by evil and becoming the villain of the second game is also the premise of Diablo II , which is just one of the many comparisons that exist between these two ser
Torchlight II _ is an action RPG from 2012 that has been ported to modern systems, including the Nintendo Switch, for the first time. The long rumored ( and recently leaked ) Diablo 4 was finally announced at Blizzcon today with a horrifically terrifying trailer. After, game director Luis Barriga took the stage to describe the tone and visual style of the game. He promised fans Diablo 4 would have an exceptionally dark atmosphere and a deeper, more revealing journey through the world of Sanctuary.
That didn't dull fan response to the reveal, however, which featured a lengthy cinematic that served to reintroduce what appears to be the main antagonistic force in the Diablo 4 story - Lilith . Lilith is a fan-favorite enemy from Diablo 2 , and her powers, demeanor, and the narrative surrounding her all lend themselves more to a dark, grisly, and visceral gameplay experience. While Diablo 3 got better with time - and fans were disappointed the second Diablo 3 expansion never happened - it was often criticized for being too bright and cartoony in places, straying too far away from what fans expected and loved about the franchise. With the new Diablo 4 BlizzCon trailer and the resurrection of a villain from the darkest game in the series, it appears Blizzard is addressing those complaints in f
With last year's unpleasantly-received Diablo Immortal reveal and a recent letter from United States politicians strongly urging Blizzard to reverse their decision regarding Hearthstone player blitzchung's termination still hanging over their heads, the company is surely anticipating a rambunctious crowd at their upcoming annual convention. If there was ever a time to release information about the long-awaited Diablo 4 , or literally any other series fans have been asking for, this is
Regardless of what is presented, there is always the possibility of being overshadowed by protests within the event, or like last year, an unscripted question from the audience calling out Blizzard for their odd choices over the last few years. Blizzard might also be faced with a hefty challenge of managing attendees who show up in full protestor gear or spam the livestream chat with pro-Hong Kong messages as people have speculated they might. Given how badly the questions were in 2018, there is unlikely to be any open question and answer period this time aro
BlizzCon 2019 is a mere three weeks away, and while diehard fans of the event should be preparing for a celebration of their favorite games like Diablo , World of Warcraft , Overwatch , Hearthstone , and Starcraft , a recent string of controversies looms over the event. #BoycottBlizzard is going strong on Twitter thanks for Blizzard’s controversial decision to ban a player who made a pro-Hong Kong statement, and at this point, fans are wondering if there is anything that can save Blizz
While playing the Druid, the abilities all felt extremely situational and rewarding to use. Getting overwhelmed by enemies was a big concern, at least in the early levels. Luckily, all 6 abilities served an important purpose. I'd send my wolves to occupy an elite while I bear stomp AOE'd the mobs. I'd roll a boulder at archers to knock them Find Out More of range then dash through enemies with my bear charge to CC enemies and close distance on weakened targets. When things got to overwhelming, I could blow my lightning storm ultimate to help clear enemies out. Health potion cooldown management was a concern the whole time. There was no chance I could have made it through the demo zone by button mashing, this was the most involved combat of any Diablo game.
The roughly 20 minute demo on the show floor offers the hack 'n slash Diablo experience fans will expect, with some significant visual updates, shockingly visceral sound design, and the most engaging combat in any Diablo title thus far.
Torchlight II has a meaty campaign that is light on story but is filled with dungeons to explore and mobs of enemies to slay. The player need not take this journey alone, as there is a four-player co-operative multiplayer mode that lets groups of adventurers play together online. The Nintendo Switch version of Torchlight II runs perfectly fine in handheld mode without any concessions in terms of graphical or performance prowess, but this version also has some minor bugs that were noticeable throughout the game, such as information not displaying correctly on the Attributes screen. The developers are promising to address these issues in a patch that will be launched shortly after Torchlight II is relea
