All in all, though, Sea of Thieves players aren't happy about the situation. It comes at a fractious time for the game itself, after a former artist on the title suggested that the devs knew Sea of Thieves was repetitive in nature. With some asking for more from the title, should those disappointed in the Pirate Legend content (and the way that it was reached) make a big enough noise it may cause Rare to give the game some twe
Upon realizing how everything works, you'll begin to notice just how gorgeous Sea of Thieves is. It is one of the most beautiful games I have ever seen. The best word to describe the first sunset and sunrise I saw is breathtaking. The way the sun reflects off the incredibly animated ocean is a technical feat. It is the best looking water I have seen in a video game. This, in conjunction with its cartoon-style player models and environments, makes the tedium of the quests somewhat beara
This excitement carried through some additional beta runs, but after Sea of Thieves saw full release this sheen did not carry very far at all. Unfortunately, many players have already grown a little weary of the game's repetition, with a critical reception that has been quick to point out that Sea of Thieves has a problem with variety , both in terms of gameplay and in terms of enemy types. That's without going into some of the launch connectivity issues that have plagued the g
As it turns out, developer Rare was apparently well aware of the lack of depth in the gameplay of Sea of Thieves during the development process. The allegations come from former Sea of Thieves artist Rob Beddall, who took to Reddit to address some of the concerns that players have over the game and share some context of how it felt during development. Beddall, who worked on the game for over two years, stated that " a lot of internal people voiced their concerns that the game was repetitive and shallo
Beddall's comments certainly match up with how some players are feeling about Sea of Thieves . Although the game is an enjoyable one, there is a sense of frustration that the gameplay on offer doesn't give as much variety that would be hoped from such a highly anticipated release . As such, it's easy to see why some users feel as though Sea of Thieves has not progressed enough from testing to really be considered a full launch right
Sea of Thieves is a mixed bag of emotions for me. It's a great social experience to play with a group of friends and sail on the prettiest water you will ever see in a video game. It's also bogged down by tedious and repetitive voyages that reward you with meager pay. When you can eventually purchase an item, it will only affect how you look. If that is the case, it seems puzzling that I can't create a character I want to flaunt to any passerby. There is enjoyment to be found in Sea of Thieves , but not enough to keep you interested in the long t
One Reddit user named peraldon asked Rare about post-launch DLC for Sea of Thieves and whether or not they would disclose the game's roadmap for first-year content plans after the game launches. Joe Neate, Executive Producer on Sea of Thieves , answered the question and said the follow
The announcement of a PVP mode should come as no surprise. Fans had been clamoring for Sea of Thieves to create a Battle Royale mode. Rare responded by saying the mode, or something like it, would likely happen if they felt there was enough interest. Considering how popular and successful the genre has been , it’s safe to say that players were sufficiently interested. Battle Royales aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, with Call of Duty and Battlefield V creating their own versions to compete with the current reigning champion of the genre, Fortnite . Soon Sea of Thieves will have a competitive mode of their
With little time left in 2018, Rare is already preparing for next year, beginning with a new PVP mode called The Arena . There is no release date as of yet, but players should expect it to launch early in 2019. According to Polygon , The Arena is not a Battle Royale mode, although the strategy game missions|https://strategyreviewer.com/ mode will allow players to compete with one another quickly. The Arena will pit gamers against one another in a search for treasure. The new PVP mode will include a new tavern and a new trading company, The Sea Dogs, who will face off against the players as w
Of course, if you are sailing about, it's best to do it with friends or other players in general, because playing alone is a massive chore. It wouldn't be that bad if you had a simpler vessel to get between islands, but even the smallest ships are still clearly built around having a crew to manage the sails, map, steering, anchor, cannons and more all at one. Unsurprisingly, trying to manage all of that at once just gets frustrating quickly and will lead to more than a few crashes the first time around. Heck, even if you are with other players, the game is based around being able to easily communicate with each other, so you had best all be on the same page if none of you want to get left behind.
