Stories of the Kraken have existed as far back as E3 2016, but so far Rare has mostly managed to keep it hidden from the public. Alongside the dynamic storms that can hit players at any time , the Kraken is less of a boss and more of a thing in the game that can appear out of nowhere. The first sign of a Kraken is an inky mess in the water, but when and how it strikes is designed to be different each time and highly replayable.
