Full cleanup of ALL accounts is not a solution(and re-add even helps not). I also noticed that some IMAP settings — like the root folder path (e.g. "INBOX") — are not available in the new Outlook, which makes troubleshooting more difficult. In the classic Outlook, I would normally check or adjust these. All default folder will show up as top-level ones and mail will start populating to the Inbox folder. For faster and more reliable delivery, add to your trusted senders list in your email software. Simply enter your email address OR username in order to reset your password.

I checked on web mail here it is.one account is configured on two computers, one is configured with POP & second is IMAP. Missing mail is showing on POP account Pc but not showing on IMAP pc. If I have the inbox selected and I get new mail, I will not see the new mail appear in the inbox automatically during a scheduled send and receive. I use both webmail and Outlook desktop client to access my Gmail. I am normally looking at the All Mail folder on Outlook. Whenever I drag messages from the All Mail folder to the Trash folder on Outlook, these messages remain visible in the All Mail folder
credential loop in Microsoft 365 when accessed via webmail.

I have several email accounts / IMAP set-up. So looking at my tree of
Outlook Login Issues Troubleshooting email accounts one inbox might have 10 mail total and 3 unread form earlier. It's not until I click on that folder I will then see the 10 and 3 and two second later it will sync and new ones will populate. The issue is; just looking at my email accounts and the numbers shown next to the folders I cant tell if there is new mail or not until I click on them.
Chosen solution
By web app, I mean webmail accessed via Firefox or Chrome for (say) Windows 10, not smartphone app. My comment about 3rd party email -- is a 3rd email app called Email - Edison Mail (from the App Store) I set up my mail accounts in the app and everything works as it should. I’ve tried repairing the data file, removing and re-adding the account, rebooting, re-installing Outlook/Office, running SFC/DISM, all to no avail. Their webmail works fine, and when this account is added to the Windows Mail app, everything works perfectly. One word of warning - you shouldn’t set that interval to more often than maybe every 10 minutes, every 5 would be the absolutel minimum I’d set. If you set too often you run the risk that Outlook could start the next download before finishing the previous download and that could cause duplicate messages and other possible issues.
My accounts in Mail app stopped to sync post update
After instalation ios 18 all my accounts in mail app stopped to sync( including icloud mail). I can only recive mails but when I delete mails on macbook they are not deleted on iphone. During the initial startup of Outlook, it will send and receive and get new
FixTechGuide Windows update Outlook fix mail. But if I leave my email open with the inbox selected, it will not populate any new mail items. In this article, I have explained various ways to solve IMAP folders are not syncing.

It will synchronize deleted items if I delete an item from my phone, but it just wont receive new ones. IMAP accounts should update automatically on send/receive. Otherwise why even have the ability to auto-sync? If I need to click on each folder to force the sync/download from server then auto sync serves no purpose. When you are accessing Gmail via the web application everything is hosted on Google's cloud servers.
- Meanwhile, the "connecting" or "Checking for mail..." just stays on the bottom status bar of the mail app.
- Apple programmers use no CD/CI - simple sometimes update by "sales-manager requests", and without any critical-bug-checks ...
- But many users run into the problem where their important IMAP folders are not syncing or stop updating.
- I would suggest that frequent changes to folder contents on multiple devices will make it go wrong.
- Even if I have an account with zero message I need to click to see the new ones there are no numbers appear.
- It's just a little bit technical, but we have an IMAP proxy that chooses from some different backend IMAP servers.
- When you are dealing with any problem, it is important to understand the reasons behind the issues.
- I have half dozen mail accounts a few microsoft a gamil and some other ones and there is no difference they are all acting the same.
Hence, the trashing of messages is registering on Gmail. It's just that the contents seem completely disconnected from what I see using webmail. All messages that were trashed in Outlook still appear in All Mail when accessed using webmail, even days later. From what I’m reading, this doesn’t actually appear to be an issue with receiving email, it’s an Outlook screen refresh issue, or possibly (although less likely) an issue with notification settings. If you can go to another folder then right back to Inbox and suddenly see 100 new messages, they were there all along, they didn’t just magically appear in that second it took to switch back and forth. Try attacking it from that angle and see what you find.
That’s why, here I am to help you in this situation by providing you with solutions. But, before that, let’s understand the cause of the issue. If I am sitting on my inbox and do a send/receive, no new mail will populate. The send and receive does not error, it looks to complete successfully. Doing a send and receive does not update the mail, and I have played with all kinds of settings in the send and receive groups but nothing seems to work.
Outlook not syncing IMAP emails
We only have a handful of people who use the their email across multiple devices at the corporate office. Just a question - why not look at office 365? Mailbox only support is like $6 a month or less, and it is proper exchange, enabling better syncing etc. You should look at your Outlook desktop client settings to review the default synchronization schedule and tweak anything you can to get it to poll Google's IMAP servers more frequently. I access the IMAP servers from 3 different machines, and they all see the changes from each other. The problem is that the some changes are not reflected in the Gmail web app.
