I made this concept art of an abandoned city by painting over a screenshot of the area as it looked in the unfinished game. Environmental concept art like this serves as a solid guideline for the team that makes all the environmental models. I originally painted this cityscape with much darker colors – though the weather was always pretty nice! In the end, I decided that it didn’t match the overall feeling of NieR: Automata very well, so I brightened it up to what you see here.

According to the latest information broadcasted by Square Enix , PS4 Pro and PS4 render the game respectively at native 1080p resolution (1920×1080) and 1600 x 900. Considering that the difference between the two pixel counts isn't enormous, I did not expect it to be too prominent. Boy was I wrong.
The shooter category was crowded this year, and the competition was very, very close. Ultimately, Battlefiel 1 narrowly came back on top from at least four games that would have been worthy of the award.
The difference appears to be less visible during cutscenes, where developers probably managed to squeeze a little more juice out of the standard PS4 due to the controlled rendering environment, bur it's still quite noticeable in elements like YoRHa 2B's hair.
The game will release in Japan for PS4 on February 23rd, in North America on March 7th, and in Europe on March 10th, 2017. A PC version is also scheduled to come next year, but no release window has been announced for that one.
The images captured on PS4 show some very visible jaggies basically across the whole picture, while the PS4 Pro version is much smoother. This appears to indicate a superior anti-aliasing solution on top of the difference in resolution. To help you see the difference (even if I doubt that this is really needed) you can check out a zoomed area on both platforms below, with massive jaggies on standard PS4 and much smoother edges on PS4 Pro.
Nier: Automata is a game fans of the series have been eagerly awaiting and even has a demo available. So what makes Nier so important and what does it have to offer gamers? Well, for one, the series is known for its dark tone (sorry Yoko) and almost horror-like storytelling with settings to match. The narrative of Nier and its parent game Drakengard have overly-depressing and somber narratives. Nothing good really happens in these games and it would be a safe bet that Nier: Automata will follow suit. The storytelling in these games is about as adult as they come (make sure kids aren’t around when playing). For anyone who hasn’t played the original Drakengard, go play it: it comes highly recommend. It wasn’t mind blowing by any means, but what it was doing for gaming was something drastically different.

All that said, Nier: Automata is looking to be as equally impressive as its parent games.
