It is much easier to deal with these elements before the boards are in place. When you are ready to install the boards, begin at the furthest point and work your way across. Lift the board into place and secure it with screws driven into the T-bar framework. Fasten every 6 to 8 inches around the perimeter and 200 to 300 millimeters apart in the center.
Leave a small gap between the boards, about 0.04 to 0.08 inches, to prevent buckling due to humidity changes. Do not force the boards into place. If they do not fit easily, verify the T-bar positioning. After all the boards are installed, seal the joints using mesh tape and joint compound, just like you would with standard plaster panels.
Conduct a thorough final check. Make sure fasteners are countersunk, the surface is smooth, and no dips or bulges exist. Once you are satisfied, add texture, skim coat, or decorative finishes.
