Wooden Greatshield : Still not a bad shield, especially for Elden Ring team composition Ring 's early game, the Wooden Greatshield still offers good knockback on enemy attacks, but its defensive stats are much lower than the rest of the shields on this list, landing it right at the bottom. With only 91% physical damage negation and significant weakness to Fire, this shield isn't the most reliable for defense. However, its low weight and minimal stat requirements make it a viable situational option even for non-Strength buil
In a game as massive as Elden Ring, there are any number of ways to build one’s character and engage the many powerful boss enemies that inhabit The Lands Between. For most of the game, one really can’t go wrong with how they develop their character, but that may not be entirely true when it comes time to confront the final few bosses near the end. Unless one possesses truly top-tier skills, this is probably the time to re-spec into a more-focused build capable of using one’s loadout to the fullest. There are many of these to choose from of course, but one that focuses on bleed is probably the most effective for struggling players. So, let’s get into it.
Updated August 12, 2024, by Hamza Haq: Exploration in Elden Ring remains one of its strongest selling points in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, allowing players to explore a vast open world that's not afraid to hide things from the player, demanding thorough exploration to reveal all its secrets. Legacy Dungeons are the perfect examples of this phenomenon, showcasing FromSoftware's mastery of world-building in the form of large, sprawling dungeons to get lost
Crucible Hornshield : A disappointing Greatshield, the Crucible Hornshield looks incredible, but its functionality doesn't really match. Though it can pack a punch as a weapon, its elemental damage negation and guard boost aren't great, and don't quite justify the lofty requirements. While it offers decent Holy resistance, the Crucible Hornshield falls short in almost every other area. With so many superior alternatives available, it remains more of an aesthetic choice for players who value style over funct
The other useful Spirit Ash is the Black Knife Tiche Ashes . Bosses have a difficult time hitting her, and her ranged attack drains health for a certain percentage. She can drain bosses for a stupid amount of damage if they leave her alone for too long. There are two main drawbacks to using her, though. The first is that she’s expensive to summon, requiring around 132 FP. The second is that she doesn’t draw aggro as often, so players will need to be more careful about avoiding hits. If she sounds useful, though, she can be obtained by defeating Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader in the Ringleader's Evergaol in Liurnia (accessed by progressing Ranni's questline ).
It's just there to frustrate the players once again and is just a mere nuisance in game design as players simply just run past it. It's topped off with one of the least logical pathways to a boss arena; somehow, coffins are a better transportation method than Torr
Players should charge at Radahn to get him to follow them . The next course of action is to gallop to the western end of the map, run up the hill and stop midway . Radahn is unable to hit the player there, but he'll get aggravated enough to glitch further up the hill. Once Radahn gets climbing, the player should then hop over to a nearby branch and watch as the boss hopelessly tries to reach them and inevitably falls to his death. This video visualizes that particular strategy perfectly, courtesy of Mono R
There are plenty of moments in Elden Ring where players will have to leave Torrent behind and face the inevitable roots of this Soulsborne game, namely Soulsborne dungeons. Or as the game likes to call them, Legacy Dungeons. These are pretty much Dark Souls levels plopped on top of the Lands Between open world to mark (mostly) linear areas where players can't use Torrent to speed
Verdigris Greatshield Almost comparable to the Black Steel Greatshield in potential, the Verdigris Greatshield is the second new Greatshield introduced in the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. What sets this shield apart is its emphasis on guard capacity rather than pure damage negation. At +10 upgrade level, the Verdigris Greatshield boasts a 90 Guard Boost, the highest of any shield in Elden Ring . Additionally, it comes with a unique skill called Moore's Charge, similar to Shield Crash but with one key difference: while it doesn't deal damage directly, it creates an AoE splash at the end of the charge that can knock down multiple enemies. The tradeoff for its high stats against physical, Fire, and Magic damage is its considerable weight of 28.0 (second only to the Fingerprint Stone Shield) and a staggering Strength requirement of 49, the highest in the game. The Verdigris Greatshield is carried by Moore and can be obtained when he is defeated at any point in the st
