There’s also the porn. Oh my goodness there was so much porn. Overwatch porn hit harder than Tory austerity in a low-income council estate on the outskirts of Birmingham. I suppose it’s a testament to how much we loved these characters that fans were able to create detailed animated films of their main being drilled into oblivion. I respect that dedication, yet it also highlights how blatantly sexualised so much of the cast was, with many of their designs intentionally drawing in the male gaze with conventional body types and poses drawing our eyes to very specific parts of the body. Most of the girls were clearly designed by dudes. \
Like many of you, I enjoyed Overwatch , a video game that I purchased with human money. In fact, because I thought Overwatch would continue to exist, I bought it on more than one lifeweaver petal Platform strategy. I’m not right in the head sometimes, so I actually believed that by purchasing a video game on a physical disc, I would get to play it for a while. I figured I had years to enjoy being a D-level Mercy failing to heal teammates who lowkey hated me.
Even when (mostly) paying people back for their purchases on Stadia, Google is still showing it barely cares about its users. Not every game will allow saves to transfer. Hell, some games specifically designed for Stadia are now in limbo. Quick reminder - the people on the ground making these games are often creative folks who just want to bring something nice to the world. I’m not criticizing the engineers who made Stadia work or the artists and designers who make Overwatch look and play brilliantly. They deserve praise and probably better pay. Which, again, is funny considering these are all greedy companies sucking in dollar bills.

The Overwatch 2 battle pass is clean and simple. I’m surprised Blizzard didn’t decide to push the boat out or try something new with its implementation of the mechanic, because what we have here is rather basic and predictable. Some tiers have more than one reward hidden away inside them which is cool, and the variety of cosmetics is quite incredible and makes great use of the extensive hero roster, but what you’re working towards is very clear.
I’ve got my Transcendence ready to go, meaning that when Genji pulls his Dragonblade, I can protect my entire team by moving alongside him and nullifying all of the damage he’s trying to dish out. I used to be pretty good at Overwatch back when I played more regularly, so I’m patiently waiting for a specific sign - that telling dash up into the air to give him a clear view of the targets below him. I booted up Overwatch for the first time in a few months last night and it wasn’t awful. A shot of Reinhardt’s Talent Trees offers a lot of information. In the BlizzConline video, the player browses the Tank Hero’s available upgrades, including some wild abilities like Baldrich’s Stand, Shield Bash, and Overhead Smash. Baldrich’s Stand grants Reinhardt large armor and damage buffs when his shield breaks. Shield Bash stuns enemies with a forward bash of the shield — much like Brigitte’s ability. Overhead Smash grants a damage buff and Stun abilities after two consecutive hits with the Rocket Ham
First up is the main menu, which is a real snazzy bit of presentation. The first thing you’ll notice is how much the colour scheme has changed, with many of the tones updated to feel more modern and grounded compared to the cartoonish first game. There’s still plenty of room for silliness, but the orchestral score is even more soaring and extravagant, doing its best to emphasise how this is a glorious return to form despite most of the game playing and looking the same. First impressions count though, and Overwatch 2 doesn’t disappoint.
