All the while, Twitch streamers are taking a stance against gambling, while Xbox brings HowLongToBeat support into its library to let you know what time investment you’re making before you dive in. Speaking of diving i
We’d hop on Discord and inevitably talk about the state of Overwatch, sharing timid excitement for the sequel and how we’d hope it might shake up the subdued nature its progenitor had adopted in the years since its release. The world and heroes have so much potential, taking the foundations first established here and building them into showcases that aren’t afraid to grow this universe in bold, meaningful w
Blizzard needed to change its release model to make more money and get with the times, and there wasn’t really a way to do that without throwing a number at the end and making it free-to-play across all platforms. I don’t mind this direction at all, and think it will result in a much better game when all is said and done, but something about it does irk me.
Part of that is introducing a battle pass, allowing you to unlock a slew of cosmetics without sifting through endless loot boxes. But some heroes are locked to the battle pass, making it a grind to get the newest releases, even if they are free. This is a significant shift in what Overwatch is all about - experimentation; Now you have to spend hours to unlock a character to try them, and you might not even enjoy them enough to warrant that investm
Yesterday I took a look at how good each of the Overwatch 2 Tanks would be at driving a tank . We had some laughs, had some fun, but then it was time to put away childish toys and become a gamer. I played a few rounds of Overwatch 2 and, as is tradition, I lost badly. The fact D.Va is an expert tank driving in real life did not help me play any better as her. I'm wounded. Lost. I feel like I can't go on. I need support. Emotional support. So then, let's rank all of the Overwatch 2 Supports by how supportive they would be in an emotional cri
Seasonal events still have a place in Overwatch 2, but they simply can’t exist in their current form. In the years since 2016, we’ve seen the emergence of Fortnite, virtual metaverses and the battle pass, with the latter point going on to define all of the biggest multiplayer games on the market. Blizzard needs to take these inspirations into account when crafting the upcoming hero shooter to ensure it can stand alongside the big hitters in the modern landscape. Since right now, it feels downright archaic in compari
While Overwatch 2 DLC|https://overwatch2fans.com/ 2 sees major changes for heroes who have been around since the first game, there are sweeping changes that affect everyone. Some of these will temporarily boost your speed, and ultimate power bar , and pro players will keep these things in mind while they play and make quick decisi
This goes the same for ultimates, as sometimes it is best to time when you unleash your greatest ability rather than using it as soon as you can. You can get kills with D.Va's Self-Destruct or Reaper's Death Blossom, or you can wait for Reinhardt to knock people down to blow them
Controversial to have him this low? Lucio is a ‘good vibes’ kind of guy, and while partying with him might help when you're feeling low, he seems a bit of a fair-weather Support. I'm not sure how helpful he'd be in sticky situations or with anything that required any level of emotional depth or assistance that went beyond sticking on some sick tunes. Points for trying, but only j
I loved seeing three or four gold medals pop up at the end of a particularly good match. It was the perfect cap on a great experience. Sometimes when my team played well, we’d sit on the medal screen for a minute or two talking about the high points of the match and bragging about our medals. I took a screenshot of my last Overwatch game before the servers shut down where I earned three gold medals and three career bests. In Overwatch 2, matches just sort of end. There’s no fanfare, no time to reflect on how well you did. You can’t even see the scoreboard anymore once the game is over. I’m glad we have a real scoreboard, but we didn’t have to give up the medal completely, did
It was convoluted and it didn’t do much to cut back on toxicity. Instead of antagonizing your teammates for not getting enough kills, players would just rub their gold medals in each other's faces. In the end, it just led to bullying with extra steps, so for Overwatch 2, the developers replaced it with a good old-fashioned scoreboard. Now players can see exactly how many elimins, assists, and deaths everyone has right away. Flaming your teammates has never been eas
Meanwhile, the whole meta has stirred up behind-the-scenes drama, with TrainwrecksTV calling out Mizkif for allegedly covering up sexual assault for his friends . Why didn’t he speak up before? It’s a messy situation - calling out gambling is good, but Stacey argues that it takes the right circumstances for streamers to take action, all in the name of good pr
