Once tension is set, rotate the chain by hand several full revolutions to ensure it moves freely without resistance on any part of the system. Apply the manufacturer-approved lubricant, applying it distributing across the hinge areas while the chain is gently rotating. Do not apply excessive grease, as over-application leads to debris accumulation and surface erosion.
Finally, inspect mounting bolts and protective covers, and perform a test run under light load. Monitor for unusual noise, vibration, or heat. After the first few hours of operation, reassess slack levels, as fresh chains undergo minor elongation in the break-in phase. Routine checks and servicing will help extend operational lifespan indefinitely.
